Border Collie Across America Mission

The mission of Border Collies Across America, Inc. is to provide breed awareness, education, and information via the web, educational material, and other means; and to support Border Collie rescue groups, independent Border Collie rescuers, and shelters having adoptable Border Collies by posting services and financial support via grant programs.

Purpose and Objectives:
  • To provide financial support to Border Collie rescues, independent Border Collie rescuers, and shelters/humane societies through grant programs, which may include, but is not limited to: spay and neuter grants, vaccinations grants, and other related expenses for the care of the foster Border Collie.
  • To connect rescue organizations, individuals, shelters and Border Collie enthusiasts across the United States by providing one inclusive web site covering all areas of interest related to the Border Collie breed.
  • To promote the adoption of purebred Border Collies and Border Collie mixes via the web and other means by supporting rescue organizations, independent rescuers, and shelters and/or humane organizations.
  • To provide educational information about Border Collies, which could include, but is not limited to: health, exercise needs, training, diet, breed characteristics, and other information related to the Border Collie breed.

Grant Guidelines

 Border Collies Across America (BCAA) is proud to support non-profit organizations across America.  Please be aware that we attempt to fulfill as many requests as possible and cannot guarantee that every request will be met.

 

Please review the guidelines before submitting a Grant Application.  Provide financial support to Border Collie rescues, independent Border Collie rescuers, and shelters/humane societies through grant programs, which may include, but is not limited to: spay and neuter grants, vaccinations grants, and other related expenses for the care of foster Border Collies.   

Guidelines

1.    Applications received 15 days in advance of major medical procedure or up to 30 days after major medical procedure

2.    Applications received 15 days in advance of spay, neuter or general vaccinations or up to 30 days after medical procedure or vaccination.

3.    All requests must include the following:

a.    Grant Application. 

                                          i.     E-mail info@bordercolliesacrossamerica.com for word document. 

b.    Copy of all medical records pertaining to dog including estimates or bills

c.    Copy of last months bank statements including beginning and ending account balances with rescues or shelters full address on statement.  (Please make sure to black out any account information and other sensitive information.)  All information will be kept confidential.  E-mail to: info@bordercolliesacrossamerica.com

4.    BCAA charitable giving program cycle is based on our fiscal year (January 1 – December 31).  Each organization may submit only (1) one request per fiscal year.  This rule will be exempt during certain situation when a large number of dogs are coming into rescue or a shelter at one time. 

5.    Supporting Border Collies and Border Collies mixes.

6.    Major medical cases will be judged on the quality of life the funding will bring

Limitations/Restrictions

1.    Funds are normally release to veterinary clinics for major medical expenses.

2.    Border Collies and BC mixes that are terminally ill.

3.    BCAA will not provide funding for any medical treatment for personal pets.

Rescue or Shelters agrees to

1      Rescue or shelter group for major medical grants agrees to send BCAA at lease 2 pictures of dog during recovery treatment and write up of dog’s progress.  Write up will include rescue or shelters groups web contact information.  This information will be posted on BCAA web site under Grant Alumni

2      Rescue or shelter group will promote BCAA via a link exchange on their web site.

3      Rescue or shelter group will mention BCAA’s contribution in their newsletter, Facebook page, Twitter or any other social media outlet they have. 

4      Organizations hereby authorize BCAA to use their name in advertising, and publicity surrounding BCAA. 

Spay and Neuter Grant amounts

Spay: up to $90.00

Neuter: up to $60.00

 

Vaccinations amounts

General vaccinations up to:  $50.00

Heartworm test: up to:  $30.00
